Fall is progressing and we are excited as we prepare for your day on the farm with a sense of appreciation for our surroundings on this lowcountry farm. Seasonally, the fall season is one of the richest on Wimbee Creek Farm. The weather moderates, the flower field is alive with all the stages of growth and maturity, and we are able to appreciate the long awaited season of transition with abundance and gratitude. Come spend the day with us and create a centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table.
We’ll start our day with reFRESHments as we meet and greet at the barn. Our fall floral design workshop revolves around the flower barn and the elements of appreciation for the combined stages of the natural elements that surround us. We tour the farm’s growing areas with an overview of the concepts of the various stages we go through in growing and cutting for harvest as well as our progress toward the seasons ahead. The elements that are chosen for you to work with in your design experience will reflect what you learn from a walk on the farm.
Kristina will lead a demonstration and discussion for your benefit as you return from the field to a fully set barn to indulge in the experience of flowers. Your creativity is yours to explore in the flower barn among the casual yet rich environment the barn provides.
Following your flower barn design experience, we enjoy hosting you for a long table luncheon of goodness from our lowcountry farm and garden bounty. We hope your experience will be a truly magical one as we share lunch under the oaks by the water on the farmhouse porch.
